PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Phoenix police say three suspects are now in custody in connection with a murder case where a man was kidnapped and shot to death more than five years ago.
On Wednesday, authorities identified the suspects as Parketta Allen, 27; Jamaya Boozer, 22; and Jordan Edmonds, 21.
Investigators said officers were called to the area of 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road on Nov. 29, 2020, on reports of a shooting just before midnight.
Police arrived and found the victim, Tate Bomar, 25, who had been shot. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died, and homicide detectives soon began looking into his murder.
Detectives said they uncovered that several suspects had planned to carry out an armed robbery and kidnapping after agreeing to meet up closer to 51st Avenue and Thomas.
Police said once they kidnapped him, they tried to take him somewhere else, but he was able to escape and was shot as he ran from the car.
Investigators then identified the three suspects as Allen, Boozer, and Edmonds. Ultimately, detectives were able to develop probable cause earlier this year to arrest all three of them.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety found and arrested Allen on Feb. 17. Then, on Mar. 9, Phoenix PD’s Tactical Support Bureau was able to arrest Boozer. Meanwhile, Edmonds was already in custody on unrelated charges, police said.
“Each suspect faces multiple charges connected to the murder of Bomar, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and first-degree murder. This remains an open investigation,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Rob Scherer said in an emailed release.
A booking photo for Edmonds wasn’t immediately available.
No other information on the case has been released.
