Alexander Zverev’s Wimbledon campaign was short-lived after the German suffered a first-round exit to Arthur Rinderknech.
Zverev lost to Rinderknech in a five-set marathon, marking his joint-worst run at the All England Club in his career so far.
Following his defeat, the ATP number three gave an honest assessment of where his game is at, and spoke candidly about life off the court, saying he had ‘never felt this empty’.
Now, following the conclusion of the grass season, Zverev has begun his preparations for the US hard-court swing and has been spotted training with a high-profile coach.

A post uploaded to X, formerly known as Twitter, showed Zverev with Rafael Nadal‘s uncle and ex-coach, Toni Nadal.
Nadal coached the 22-time Grand Slam champion from 1990 to 2017, guiding his nephew to a total of 16 majors.
He is seen in the video talking to Zverev and appears to be helping the 28-year-old with his game.
It is not confirmed that Nadal is his new coach, but many fans will speculate that to be the case, especially considering some of the comments made by the star in his Wimbledon press conference.
What Alexander Zverev said about his coaching situation after exiting Wimbledon
Zverev was asked after his loss to Rinderknech if “part of the rebuild may involve somebody else in the future.”
He responded: “Possibly. It’s a different feeling for me at the moment. I can’t speak right now, but I’ll have answers by Canada.
“It is not a feeling on a tennis court. It’s just a life feeling in general. As I said, I never felt this way before. I don’t know.
“It’s difficult to find joy outside of the tennis court for me at the moment. It’s not an excuse or anything. I think Arthur deserved to win today.
“But it’s just something that I’ve felt for the past few months. Again, just feel generally very lonely.”
Zverev was scheduled to appear at the Swiss Open this week, but recently withdrew from the event.
