VOLGA, W.Va. — Allegheny Metallurgical is hiring. The company will host a job fair is set for July 25th and 26th in Bridgeport.
A company press release indicated they have successfully emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and are ready to hire more staff to help with the next operational phase which is installation of longwall equipment tin the mine.
“At full operation, we will have close to 500 individuals,” stated Eric Lipinski, Chief Operating Officer at Allegheny Metallurgical. “This job fair will be an opportunity for potential employees to meet our team and be considered for a long-term, well-paying job right here in the heart of West Virginia.”
The company is looking for experienced operators who can handle positions such as Shearer Operations, Shield Technicians, Mechanics, Electricians, and underground production and maintenance supervisors. Officials are encouraging job applicants to bring a resume and be prepared for on-site interviews.
The company offers a 28-day schedule in which individuals work 14 days and have 14 days off. Seven of the 14 days off will be consecutive. In addition, Allegheny Metallurgical offers a more traditional schedule with a steady day shift, running Monday through Friday and every other Saturday.

The Job Fair will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Bridgeport Conference Center.
