3 seriously hurt after violent crash in west Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Three people are fighting for their lives after a violent wreck in the Maryvale area of Phoenix early Saturday morning.

Around 1:45 a.m., Phoenix firefighters received reports of a crash near 61st Avenue and Indian School Road. Crews arrived and found two vehicles involved, both severely damaged.

Two men and a woman were all rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Arizona’s Family witnessed a two-door sedan with both doors and front grill ripped off, while an SUV had damage to its passenger side and hood. A trail of debris was left scattered across the road.

Indian School is currently shut down in both directions from 59th Avenue to 61st Avenue. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Phoenix Police have taken over the investigation and are working to determine what led up to the collision.
