The Bledsoe County Rescue Squad will host a benefit lunch in Pikeville for a local infant diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder.
John Lee Anthony Bickford, son of Katie Peterson of Dunlap, suffers from infantile-onset Pompe disease (IOPD). Babies with this condition require enzyme treatments every two weeks.
In an effort to raise money for his treatment and medical costs, the family will be holding a benefit lunch and some raffles with donated items on Saturday, August 2.
For $12, you can get a plate of smoked pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, slaw, peach cobbler, and a drink between 11:00am and 5:00pm.
“Let’s have a good time, everyone is welcome!” Peterson said in a Facebook post about the event. “Thank you!”
