Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 18 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Big Island state roadways on weekdays throughout the week of March 14-20.

HIGHWAY 11
HILO TO VOLCANO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 36 in the vicinity of Banyan Drive, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 16-20 for removal of existing striping and installation of centerline rumble strip, striping and pavement markers.
VOLCANO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 37 and 39.5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16-20 for cutting grass.
KĪPĀHOEHOE
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 93 and 95 in the vicinity of ʻŌhiʻa Malu Road and Kukui O Pae Place, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16-20 for tree trimming and shoulder work.
CAPTAIN COOK TO HŌLUALOA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 109 to 118.8 in the vicinity of Koa Road and Lako Street, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 16-20 for removal of existing striping, new striping and permanent markers.
CAPTAIN COOK
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction near mile post 110.6, in the vicinity of Meleana Place and Ōnouli Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 17-19 for Hawai‘i County Department of Water Supply to install a new meter and waterline.
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction near mile posts 111, in the vicinity of Konawaena School Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 16-18 for Hawai‘i County Department of Water Supply to install a new meter and waterline.

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 11.5 and 15 in the vicinity of Overpass Road and Chin Chuck Road, from March 14-20 for emergency zone work, pavement repair.
NĪNOLE
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17.9 and 18.2 in the vicinity of Government Main Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 16-20 for work on Nanue Bridge.
PĀPAʻALOA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 21 and 22 in the vicinity of Kaihuiki Road and Uweki Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16-20 for cutting trees and shoulder work.
ʻŌʻŌKALA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 29.8 and 32 in the vicinity of Kaʻawaliʻi Road and Government Main Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 16-20 for work on Kāholo Stream Bridge.

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 21 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway and Kaimū-Chain of Craters Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 16-20 for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.
KEAʻAU TO PĀHOA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3 and 11 in the vicinity of Kahakai Boulevard, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16-20 for cutting grass.
PĀHOA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17 and 19 in the vicinity of Old Kalapana Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16-20 for mulching and shoulder work.
HIGHWAY 190
WAIMEA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 1 in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 16-20for installation of new striping.

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17 and 19 in the vicinity of Mamo Street and ʻAkoni Pule Highway, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16-20 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

HILO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2 in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 16-20 for repairing and painting asphalt curbs and directional arrows.
