PADUCAH, KY — Murray State junior catcher Will Vierling was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 11th round of the 2025 MLB Draft on Monday afternoon.
The Phillies selected Vierling with the 341st overall pick in the draft. He is coming off of a breakout season with the Racers, where he finished the season batting .312 with 10 home runs and 51 RBI’s.
Behind the plate at catcher this past season, Vierling was responsible for just one error and played an important role during Murray State’s run to the College World Series.
Vierling was the lone Racer to see his name drafted this year.
