LONG POND — Chase Briscoe didn’t have enough fuel to make it to the end of the race. He knew it and his crew chief James Small knew it.

Yet somehow he managed to save enough over the final 40 laps to make it to the checkered flag Sunday and win The Great American Getaway 400 Presented by VISITPA.COM at Pocono Raceway.

Leading the last 30 laps and conserving fuel in the process, Briscoe got his first win of the season in the No. 19 Toyota and first since joining Joe Gibbs Racing this season.

He did it by holding off JGR teammate, pole-sitter and seven-time Pocono winner Denny Hamlin by 0.682 seconds back. Ryan Blaney, last year’s race winner, was third. Chris Buescher and Chase Elliott rounded out the top five.

Check back later for more details.
