OPINION — In rural Arizona, access to care often comes down to what is available close to home, and for many patients, that is their local pharmacy.
Arizona faces primary care shortages in all 15 counties. In some areas, patients travel up to 70 miles just to see a provider. On the ground, that looks like delayed care. Small problems becoming bigger ones because the right care was not available at the right time.
