Fletcher moves up to 3rd; Bolles still unbeaten

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Varsity 4 News4JAX Super 6 boys lacrosse rankings will be published each Tuesday in the regular season. Records are through Feb. March 23 games.

1. (1) Ponte Vedra (11-1, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Bishop Moore, Episcopal, Fletcher, Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Catholic, Starr’s Mill (Ga.), Winter Park.

Glance: The Sharks went 2-0 since our last Super 6 with a 17-8 win over Oceanside Collegiate and a 9-3 win over Wando. They round out the week with a huge clash at 11-1 Saint Andrew’s on Wednesday and a battle at home against unbeaten Georgia power Roswell on Friday.

2. (2) Bolles (15-0, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Buchholz, Cardinal Mooney, Chiles, Episcopal, Fletcher, Nease, Pensacola Catholic, Richmond Hill, South Walton, St. Edward’s, Trinity Catholic.

Glance: The Bulldogs won three games since our last Super 6, topping quality teams in Richmond Hill (14-7), Episcopal (13-8) and Trinity Catholic (23-0) to stay perfect. They visit Lake Mary on Friday.

3. (4) Fletcher (7-3, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Creekside, Gulf Breeze, Providence, St. Augustine.

Glance: The Senators have won five straight, including an 8-6 win over Creekside in their last game out. They visit No. 3 Episcopal on Wednesday in what should be one of the best games of the week.

4. (3) Episcopal (5-3, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Menendez, Pensacola Catholic, South Walton.

Glance: The Eagles lost to Bolles in a tight match (13-8) in their only game since our last Super 6. They face Fletcher on Wednesday and St. Augustine on Friday as they attempt to snap a two-game losing streak.

5. (5) Nease (8-3, Class 2A)

Notable win: Fleming Island, South Walton, Tocoi Creek, Trinity Catholic.

Glance: The Panthers went 2-1 since our last Super 6, beating Mandarin and Trinity Catholic, and then losing big to a powerful Jupiter team (14-1).

6. (6) Creekside (7-5, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, St. Augustine, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Knights lost to Fletcher (8-6) on March 12 in their last match out. They’re back on the field Tuesday night at No. 5 Nease trying to end a two-game losing streak.
