Uptown Players was set to open its new musical, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, on Friday, July 18 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. That has now been pushed to a Saturday opening following today’s announcement by the company.

Due to an unexpected cast emergency, our opening night performance of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 19.

The remainder of the run will continue as planned from July 19 – August 3 at the Kalita Humphreys Theatre. Patrons holding tickets for the original opening night will be contacted by our box office team to assist with rescheduling.

We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to share Jamie’s inspiring, feel-good story with you—starting this Saturday!

The coming-of-age musical is inpired by true events that centers on a mother’s unconditional love for her son, Jamie New, a 16-year-old from Sheffield who dreams of becoming a drag queen. This is also the closing production of Uptown Players full season. The company will follow Jamie up with the season add-on, IMAGINE, a collaborative production with Bruce Wood Dance Dallas for a two-day run in August.
