Nathan Fillion’s ‘Firefly’ Reunion Comes with a Major Announcement: ‘This Sparks Much Joy’ originally appeared on Parade.

Nathan Fillion had some important news to share with fans while reuniting with his Firefly co-stars.

The actor, who is currently portraying the Green Lantern in Superman, joined forces with the cast of the beloved 2002 sci-fi drama.

In the clip, Fillion is seated alongside Alan Tudyk (Hoban Washburne), SummerGlau (River Tam), Sean Maher (Simon Tam), and Gina Torres (Zoë Washburne).

The fantastic cast was seated to announce some major news, as the caption noted, “All new Firefly Funko POP! collectibles are available now to pre-order! Collect the whole crew at Funko.com.”

Fillion, who played Captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds, elaborated, “You’re all wondering what’s happening in the world of FunkoPop, I’m glad you asked.”

“Finally, you can get the entire crew of Firefly in FunkoPop,” he added, before turning to the group and asking, “Guys, how do you feel about that?”

“The band is finally together,” Torres replied, as Tudyk stated, “It’s about damn time.”

Fillion continued, “FunkoPop’s are kind of like the Oscars for sci-fi. You really haven’t gotten there unless you’ve got a FunkoPop.”

“Congratulations guys, welcome to the club,” he said to his co-stars, as they declared, “We made it” and “Finally.”

As they continued to joke around, Fillion said the “worst thing” that can happen to an actor is to be forgotten, explaining gratitude for being part of a project that has the “legs” that it’s had.

In the caption, Fillion noted, “Can you believe this entire video was improvised? Except for everything Alan said. He’s been planning this for weeks. Enjoy your Firefly Funko Pops today! Get them from your local Funko Pop retailer, or your neighborhood Funko Pop street dealer.”

Fans couldn’t believe their eyes, as one stated, “Ahhhh!!!! OMG I was not excepting to feel so emotional seeing this cast reunited! Browncoats forever!!! 😍🥹”

“Omg finally! Let’s goooooooo! 😍” another said of the release, as two more chimed in, “This sparks much joy” and “This is awesome! Brown coat reporting in!! My heart is full!!!! ❤️💯 “

Many expressed joy that Fillion and Tudyk have reunited in other projects before, including The Rookie and “now in Superman,” where he voices Superman’s robot.

And naturally, there were calls for more Firefly, with one noting, “How about a new FireFly series or at least another film????” and another adding, “Can someone in a place of power and influence start the ball rolling with a new Firefly project please?”

The series, from Joss Whedon, spanned one season and boasted 14 episodes, with the synopsis stating, “Give hundred years in the future, a renegade crew aboard a small spacecraft tries to survive as they travel the unknown parts of the galaxy and evade warring factions as well as authority agents out to get them.”

The cast also included Morena Baccarin, Ron Glass, Christina Hendricks, and Bonnie Bartlett.
