A man was arrested on Wednesday after police and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives swarmed a Brentwood home.

Law enforcement officials alarmed neighbors along Rockingham Avenue and Sunset Boulevard earlier Wednesday as they arrived to arrest a man accused of impersonating a firefighter during the middle of the Palisades Fire. The Los Angeles Fire Department said the incident occurred on Jan. 16.

Now, the Brentwood resident is facing at least a dozen charges, some for incidents dating back to 2023 and as recent as May of this year. The individual was taken into custody without incident.

LAFD confirmed that an illegitimate firetruck tried to enter the fire zone during the height of the battle against the Palisades Fire earlier this year. Neighbors said a firetruck from the 80s had been parked at the residence for quite some time.

In January, two people were suspected of trying to enter a checkpoint limited to emergency crews. It’s unclear if that case is connected with the arrest in Brentwood.

The Brentwood man is being held without bail. It’s unclear if he has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
