Exciting times are just around the corner. Samsung’s new foldables will finally be available in stores and start shipping to those who pre-ordered in a week. This means many of us will soon get to experience the stable version of Android 16-based One UI 8. Right now, One UI 8 is only available in beta for the Galaxy S25 series, and not even for the Galaxy S25 Edge yet.
So when can we expect the Galaxy S25 to get One UI 8 stable?
Before answering that, there is something interesting to note. No other Samsung flagship has received a major stable update this quickly after launch. If the Galaxy S25 series does get One UI 8 as expected, it could be a first for Samsung. Given that Galaxy S25 series launched with One UI 7 in January, we might get a major stable update in around just six months.
The Galaxy S25 series should start receiving One UI 8 by late July 2025. Since we are already past mid-month, the update rollout for this year’s flagship won’t be far off. As usual, don’t expect the update to arrive in all regions at once. If history is anything to go by, Korea will get the update first, followed by the US and other markets over the next few days.
Based on this, it is likely the Galaxy S25 series will get One UI 8 in the US during the first week of August. That sounds like a reasonable timeframe. But if Samsung decides to surprise us, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the update land for everyone before July ends.
In fact, last month a report claimed Samsung might already be testing the stable version internally. That version was also leaked, apparently. Everything looks in order now, which is good news. This means we are just a few steps away from seeing the Galaxy S25 boot up Android 16.
