Dig Inn is the go-to spot for healthy bowls and scratch-made treats, but the brand is also using its fare to do some good for frontline workers.
As a release notes, the venue will recognize the dedication of healthcare professionals with a 30% discount on all in-store orders during World Health Week (April 6 to 12) and National Nurses Week (May 6 to 12) at their new location on 11th Street in Center City — which happens to be located across from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. All frontline workers have to do is present a valid work ID at checkout to redeem the promotion.
“Supporting healthcare workers is a core part of our commitment to the communities we serve,” said Tracy Kim, CEO of Dig Inn. “They show up every day with compassion and dedication, and this initiative is our way of expressing our gratitude for all that they do.”
The menu is built around customizable, seasonal “market bowls” that combine a base like brown rice or greens with a protein and several vegetable sides. Options span bites with charred chicken, sweet potatoes, broccoli, mac and cheese, spicy salmon, couscous, steak, crispy tofu and a vegan kale Caesar salad. Anyone can “build-your-own” option where you can mix and match proteins with a rotating selection of sides, and in addition to bowls, some locations offer sandwiches, family-style meals, sweet bites (like brownies and cookies), plus sips like sparkling water and house-made lemonade.
The debut of the new location in Center City earlier this month also marked the launch of the brand’s new spring menu with options like lemon piccata sauce, roasted green beans with calabrian pesto, herby green rice, and the return of the “fan-favorite” cheesy cauliflower.
“Opening in Center City marks an exciting milestone for Dig Inn as we continue to grow in Philadelphia,” adds Kim. “At our core, we believe in nourishing communities, both inside and outside our doors. Launching this location with a food drive benefiting Thomas Jefferson’s Family Market Pantry reflects our commitment to giving back while becoming part of the neighborhood.”
