Construction has started on Halo Vista, a massive, 2,300-acre multiuse project surrounding TSMC’s semiconductor complex in north Phoenix.

The Halo Vista project will include retail, housing and industrial space.

Thomas Maynard is with the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. He says the $7 billion project is inspired by similar TSMC facilities in Taiwan.

“It’s gonna be a major hub for employment, for all sorts of high tech technologies, a lot of semiconductor and the supply chains and supporting functions to support the semiconductor ecosystem,” Maynard said.

Maynard says the development is setting an example for future manufacturing companies moving to the Valley.

“As the state attracts other major employers like TSMC and LG down in Queen Creek as an example, I do think you will see developers try to take those large chunks of land to serve that purpose.”

Maynard says the development could create thousands of jobs and opportunities for the area.
