Major crime detectives are investigating the death of a woman in the Goldfields region.

A 24-year-old woman was found deceased in Laverton on Wednesday, with the death now being treated as suspicious.

A 48-year-old woman, who is believed to be known to the deceased person, is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
