PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Storm chances are very slim today in the Valley, with dry weather more likely, along with another day of cooler than normal temperatures. A few early morning showers are possible, before partly sunny skies for the rest of the day and a high of 102 degrees.
Another active day of storms is likely in the high country, with storms developing this afternoon and moving north. Slow-moving storms could bring flash flooding both today and tomorrow in the higher elevations of the state.
Dry air moving into Arizona will bring decreased storm chances statewide by the weekend. The Valley will warm to near 107 both Saturday and Sunday with mostly sunny skies. Mountain communities will see a 20 to 30% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Dry air looks to stay in place through early next week, keeping storm chances low. We’re watching the possibility of moisture moving up from Mexico, which could bring rain back to the forecast, but for now chances are very low. We’ll keep you updated.
