LSU has just one more practice to go before week two of spring ball wraps up.

The Tigers players who are both returning and incoming from orther programs, have described the up tempo pace at which these sessions are being run as tiresome but also beneficial.

The media had the chance to catch up with three LSU players on Thursday and all had some intriguing information to pass along.

Harlem Berry (RB)

On conversations with the new staff about how important he was to retain and his role in this offense

“It was a great feeling, especially wanting to come back here. I wanted to come back here, so just knowing that they wanted me back here was a great feeling. But I’m just still here ready to work. Nothing’s earned, so we’re just out here working right now.”

“When we played them, seeing and learning from that, knowing that he came here and just watching that game and how everything went, that was definitely an exciting thing. Just getting an open field, catching the ball at the backfield, getting in space. This is definitely a different type of offensive scheme. A lot of different things I’m seeing and just being able to get us out the backfield more. Routes in space is something we’ve seen a lot and I’m loving it.”

On his focus to get ready physically to play at this level

“Definitely trying to get that size up, at least maintaining it within this offense, because this is a real fast offense. So definitely trying to get the size up and most importantly, my stamina. Being able to go with the tempo and all that. So just being able to do that was a big thing.

“Coach Savage, when he first got here, the workouts were devious, I’m not going to lie. I was real tired. I called my mom real tired, telling her this is different. But we embrace it, and we’re working and we’re just trying to get in the best shape we can.”
