CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — A Cedar Rapids bookstore is featured in award-winning author Stephen King’s latest novel.
In “Never Flinch,” page 206 mentions Next Page Books in the city’s NewBo neighborhood. The character in the book gets a car and driver from the store.
“I would love to have a driver. But I’m afraid that’s beyond my means,” Owner Bart Carithers wrote on Facebook. “In another life. As for appearing in King’s latest, that’s pretty phenomenal.”

This isn’t the first time the bookstore got recognition from a bestselling author. James Patterson granted $500 holiday bonuses in December to independent shops across the country, including Next Page Books.
Next Page was also featured in Iowa’s News Now’s Pay It Forward in 2020 for its efforts to deliver books during the pandemic.
