While serving as the guest host Wednesday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, country music star Jelly Roll mixed it up with WWE’s Logan Paul.
Jelly Roll had WWE Superstar Randy Orton on the show as a guest, but he was confronted by Drew McIntyre. Once they came to blows and battled their way to the backstage area, Paul showed up to berate Jelly Roll (10:15 mark):
After Paul slapped him across the face, Jelly Roll responded by chokeslamming the YouTube sensation through a table.
Last week on SmackDown, Jelly Roll performed one of his songs in his home state of Tennessee, only to be interrupted by Paul, who ironically accused him for being a celebrity using WWE for publicity.
While Paul was reading Jelly Roll the riot act, Orton interrupted and suggested that Paul was being a hypocrite.
McIntyre took advantage by hitting Orton with a Claymore, but when Paul tried to add insult to injury by attacking The Viper after the fact, Jelly Roll pulled him off.
To show his appreciation, Orton asked Jelly Roll to be in his corner at Saturday Night’s Main Event for his match against McIntyre. Paul was also on hand to support Drew.
Jelly Roll and Paul got into an argument outside the ring during the match, resulting in Jelly Roll pushing Paul down. McIntyre was distracted by the commotion, and Orton went on to hit him with an RKO for the win.
McIntyre got some revenge afterward, though, by taking Jelly Roll out with a devastating Claymore.
After making their desire for revenge clear during a backstage segment, Orton and Jelly Roll challenged McIntyre and Paul to a tag team match next month at SummerSlam, and it was quickly made official.
Jelly Roll appeared at SummerSlam last year and impressed many by hitting Austin Theory with a picture-perfect chokeslam.
He did it again with Paul on Jimmy Kimmel Live, which suggests Jelly Roll may have the chops needed to put on a highly entertaining match at SummerSlam in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
