Many thousands of Texas residents are reported without electricity Saturday night after slow-moving storms blew through Texas.

The largest amount appears to be in the Houston area, where CenterPoint Energy reports about 10,000 customers without power, keeping in mind that a home is considered one electricity customer, so for family or multi-family dwellings to be included in the total, the number without power could easily be in the tens of thousands.

Entergy Texas reported several dozen customers without power through East Texas and east well into Louisiana, which was particularly hard hit by strong winds and rain.

Up through Central Texas and the Dallas area, Oncor Energy reported more than 2,000 customers out of power at the height of the electricity line repairs Saturday night.

In all, the number of those without power in Texas was estimated just after dark at about 12,400, according to USoutage.com.
