WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Celebrating Easter and debuting some new feathered friends, Zoo New York held an egg-stra special event Sunday.
Step inside the zoo today and one of the first things you’d see was little Harlow, one of the zoo’s two bunnies brought out for the easter festivities, and right next to Harlow, you’d find the zoo’s latest addition: chickens! Easter being the perfect time to introduce these hatched chicks to the zoo family.
And if you took the time to peruse the zoo in full, you could take part in the zoo’s egg scavenger hunt. Find all the egg cutouts by the various exhibits, and you’d win a prize at the front desk.
Zoo officials say the event is one of many that have been and will be put on this year to enhance the zoo experience.
“It is super exciting to be able to offer all of these like little added value things,” said Amanda Gage, the zoo’s Guest Experience Coordinator. “It really brings guests out so it’s been wonderful to add a couple of those throughout the year this year.“
While the event only lasted Sunday, the zoo is open everyday. Up next for the zoo is their spring fling event going from April 25th to the 26th.
