A Southern California man was booked for attempted murder after he was accused of firing his weapon and injuring a woman he did not know in Upland.
Police said the shooting victim and another woman were leaving a strip mall on Foothill Boulevard and Grove Avenue at around 2 a.m. on April 26 when the man emerged from the parking lot and approached their car.
Then the armed man fired his gun into the air and pointed it toward the woman before firing several rounds, according to the Upland Police Department.
The other woman in the car was unharmed.
On April 26th, around 2am, two adult females had just left a business in the area of Foothill Blvd and Grove Ave and were driving through the parking lot towards the exit.

After the suspected shooter ran away, police set up a perimeter and began piecing together evidence before identifying the suspect.
“Little did he know, by his actions, he summoned the attention of people who have made a career of identifying and locating criminals,” police said on social media.
The alleged gunman was arrested in Barstow with the help of California Highway Patrol officers, and a gun was recovered from his car.
Police collected additional evidence from the suspect’s home in Santa Ana, officials added.
