A piece of architectural history in the funky Los Angeles neighborhood of Silver Lake has changed hands.
The Fischer Residence, a 1957 post-and-beam home designed by mid-century architect Eugene Weston III, sold last week for $3.165 million, representing a 15% premium over the $2.75 million asking price, according to listing data.

The seller was film and TV director Jeremy Podeswa, whose credits include “Game of Thrones” and “3 Body Problem,” who bought the home in 2013 for $1.533 million, according to property records. He could not be reached for comment.
The three-bedroom house spans 1,872 square feet. Built during the height of the Southern California mid-century modernism movement, the structure retains its original material palette like terrazzo and cork flooring, red brick and Douglas fir-paneled ceilings.
The main floor is defined by a double-height living room with slightly pitched paneled ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass walls, showcasing the hilly city views. A central two-sided, wood-burning fireplace serves as the focal point of the space. The house is designed to emphasize the indoor-outdoor lifestyle flow, characteristic of the Mid-Century Modern movement.
The 0.42-acre lot includes a lawn adjacent to the house, terraced gardens that ascend the hillside, and a winding path leading to a secondary seating area overlooking the Silver Lake reservoir and the city basin.

Eugene Weston III was a central figure in the California Modernism movement and grandson of the original Eugene Weston of architecture firm Weston & Weston, responsible for several Los Angeles landmarks. He is known for his structural minimalism, using wood and glass to create lightweight structures without sacrificing aesthetics.
The house was listed with Grace Gaerlan of Compass in January. The buyer was represented by Brian Courville, also of Compass. They were not immediately available for comment. The identity of the buyer has not been disclosed.
