WE IS SPEAKING WITH THE WOMAN WHO GOT THE UNEXPECTED VISITOR IN HER BACKYARD. >> A BLACK BEAR CAUGHT ON CAMERA ALONG TRAVERS AVENUE NEAR MCGREGOR BOULEVARD THURSDAY AT 7 ON THE PAST AND NOW. SENATOR MCBRIDE, WHO HAPPENS TO BE THE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR FOR LEE COUNTY MOSQUITO CONTROL DISTRICT GOT A CALL ABOUT A DIFFERENT KIND OF ANIMAL. I GOT A CALL AT WORK TODAY FROM MY HUSBAND AND SAYING THAT IN OUR BACKYARD WHERE WE ARE NOW. >> THERE WAS A BEAR HERE, WHICH IS CRAZY BECAUSE IT’S FENCED IN. LOOK AT THIS AND EVEN TRY TO TAKE A NAP ON THIS. HIM COULD TOUGH, A BACKYARD. SO IT’S DEFINITELY IN BACKYARD TO ENJOY. BUT REALLY IT WAS JUST LOOKING FOR FOOD. SO GOT INTO OUR BIRD SEED. SO, YOU KNOW, IT WAS JUST MAKING ITSELF AT HOME. THIS WASN’T THE YOU CAN HEAR THIS PERSON TRYING TO GET ATTENTION. BUT WE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND FWC WORK TOGETHER AFTERNOON TO CAPTURE THE BEAR HERE IN THIS AREA ALONG SUNSET VISTA DRIVE NEIGHBORS WHO LIVE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. >> COULD BARELY BELIEVE I’M SCARED. >> I HAVE LITTLE KIDS. I HAVE DOGS. I HAVE NO CLUE. THERE’S BEARS IN THIS AREA. I’VE HEARD OF NAPLES, THE BEACH, BUT NOT HERE GREGOR MY HOME. THEY’RE GOING TO BE OUT ON THE STREETS. THERE WAS A BEAR CROSS AND COLONIAL NOT THAT LONG AGO ACROSS 6 LANES OF TRAFFIC. >> THEY GOT TO GO SOMEWHERE. FWC SAYS FLORIDA’S BLACK PLAYERS ARE MORE ACTIVE IN THE SUMMER. IT CAN SHOW UP IN UNEXPECTED PLACES. IF YOU EVER SEE A BEAR WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE CALLED FWC. IT WAS DEFINITELY SOMETHING TO REMEMBER FOR SURE. HERE IN THE MCGREGOR AREA.
