Residents of the Near Southside neighborhood can look forward to more water, sewer and street improvements.

Replacement of water and sewer lines; new concrete paving, including curbs and gutters; and driveway tie-ins are coming to these neighborhood streets:

  • South Henderson Street from West Terrell to Pennsylvania Avenue
  • Galveston Avenue from West Daggett Avenue to West Vickery Boulevard
  • South Houston Street from West Daggett Avenue to West Vickery Boulevard

The Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department updated residents on the improvements at a meeting on March 12.

The capital project is valued at $2.5 million and funded by money from Fort Worth’s Southside/Medical District TIF No. 4 tax increment finance district.

The city said it expects to use door hangers to notify residents when water will be shut off for work.

Construction is set to begin April 13 and be complete in 2027.
