A 25-year-old woman has drowned at a popular swimming hole near Alice Springs.
Northern Territory Police said they received reports about 12:50pm that CPR was being performed on the woman at the Ellery Creek Big Hole.
They said St John Ambulance took over resuscitation efforts, but the woman was unable to be revived.
The area has been closed to the public while police investigate.
At this stage, police are unable to confirm whether the woman was a local NT resident or resides elsewhere.
