PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead after being hit by a car in central Phoenix Thursday night.
Just after 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of 25th and Roosevelt streets for reports of a crash.
When police got to the scene, they found a man in a wheelchair who was seriously hurt. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died three days later on Sunday.
Preliminary information suggests the man in the wheelchair entered the road and may have been impaired. Police said the driver of the car tried to avoid the man but was unable to. The driver did not show any signs of impairment.
The man’s identity has not been released.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing and any potential charges will be determined when it is complete.
