FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTUU/KTVF) – After photos surfaced on Facebook of a big name being seen in Fairbanks, residents of interior Alaska are now trying to follow the whereabouts of musician Post Malone.
The rapper and singer who has millions of monthly music downloads was spotted in an Ester convenience store on Monday.
Known for his music and tattoos, Post Malone — whose real name is Austin Richard Post — has seemingly made a trip up to interior Alaska for what appears to be rest and relaxation.

While he has no planned concerts in the Fairbanks area, his surprise appearance got Alaskans talking on social media.
On Monday, he was spotted at the Ester Gas Station around 4 p.m. That encounter resulted in a fan and employee of the gas station taking a photo with Post Malone.
“I was just getting done doing propane and I had another coworker in with me and he was just, he was just walking around the store, he was buying a bunch of snacks, chips,” said Jari Markkanen, who works at Ester Gas Station.
Markkanen said he had heard the rumors around Fairbanks about the upcoming opening of the Raising Cane’s restaurant, which has been sitting dormant since construction wrapped up about a year ago. Malone has a connection to the chicken franchise, having one location in Utah custom designed to his style.
His appearance on Monday raised new questions about his involvement with that location.
“I don’t know if that’s true and I know he owns a few, I mean, he could have been here just like seeing the sights around here,” Markkanen speculated.
Since then, Malone has allegedly been seen in North Pole as well. Much of the excitement has turned to rumors of artificial intelligence being used in photos to create a sensation.
His next show is slated to be in California at the end of April.
