PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for April 15, 2026:
IHOP – 9976 W Happy Valley Rd, Peoria
3 violations:
- Blanched bacon not cooling properly
- Turkey breast and crepes not kept cold enough
- Hash browns kept past discard date
Yama Sushi House – 1175 W Ray Rd, Chandler
3 violations:
- No certified food manager
- Raw pork stored above vegetables
- Kitchen missing proper hand wash sink
Taiwan Mama – 822 E Union Hills Drive, Phoenix
3 violations:
- Employee blew into gloves, picked nose, then handled fried chicken
- Raw eggs stored over cabbage
- Chicken and cooked noodles not cooling properly
Babo Jumak – 2909 S Dobson Rd, Mesa
5 violations:
- Employee started handling food without washing hands
- Trash can blocking hand wash sink
- No sanitizer in dishwasher
- Knives not stored properly
- Seafood mix and tofu not kept cold enough
Alexi’s Family Restaurant – 18450 N 19th Ave, Phoenix
6 violations:
- Chef cracking eggs with gloved hand, then wiping apron and handling food
- Waitress handling ready-to-eat toast with bare hands
- Blue and white organic matter on strawberries
- Raw eggs stored over beef
- Sausage patty not kept hot enough
- Salsa and sliced ham not date marked
