SAN ANTONIO — Samantha and Idan Mazuz live in San Antonio, and say there is support for the Jewish community here but during this conflict between Iran and Israel, support for Israel is much stronger at the homeland.
“You just watched Israelites from around the world traveling or whatever, they all went home in the middle of a war, like that’s pretty, says something about the people and the people of Israel,” said Samantha.
And she says what they are going through is not easy.
Here you can see some footage of missiles streaking through the sky.
They have been flying between Iran and Israel for more than a week.
“It’s a hard time and people are struggling their not sleeping at night you know young children are pulled from their beds,” said Samantha.
It’s why they call their loved ones every day.
“that’s becoming the new reality,” said Idan.
And just last night, Operation Midnight Hammer shook Iran.
President Trump claims it obliterated Iran’s nuclear sites.
The Mazuz’s support the airstrikes.
“having so much power of acquiring a nuclear weapon is definitely dangerous for the entire world,” said Idan.
But top Trump administration officials claim the U.S. is not at war with Iran although Trump warned the U.S. could launch more attacks.
“I feel like the goal of the United State, is I don’t wanna say control the area but also be part of supporting countries that are democratic,” said Idan.
Just yesterday, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, posted on X that the U.S. is assisting with flights for U.S. citizens trying to leave the country.
Currently, the State Department has placed Israel on the “Do Not Travel” list because of safety concerns.
