PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix Fire Department is honoring one of its own who had steady courage and a gentle spirit.
In a social media post published Friday, the fire department said crews are remembering fallen K-9 Merlyn.

From wildfire deployments to search missions, the four-legged friend left a lasting mark on the Phoenix Fire Department and beyond, officials said.

Crews said the pup served others with “quiet confidence and unwavering focus.”
He was more than just a working dog; firefighters said he was an ambassador for the department and had a gentle presence for everyone he met.
Rest easy, Merlyn, a very good boy whose service will never be forgotten.
