SAN ANTONIO — Residents of the Hunters Chase neighborhood on the northwest side are reeling after a series of hate-speech graffiti and vandalism incidents left them feeling targeted and uneasy.

Police are actively investigating the incidents, which have disrupted the community’s peace of mind.

Michelle, a resident of the neighborhood, expressed her concerns, saying, “We don’t know why we would be targeted, other than we have a very large white garage that everyone can see. And really, that’s why it feels like it’s an attack on the community.”

According to reports from the San Antonio Police Department, there were three incidents between July 14 and July 16.

On Monday, a vandal smeared feces on Michelle and her husband Eric’s Ring camera. The following day, the couple discovered hateful messages spray-painted on their garage.

Despite their efforts to clean up, the vandal returned a third time. Each time, the suspect wore a mask.

“Three times within 24 hours, and it’s it’s hitting us, it’s affecting us, but even even more, it’s affecting the larger community,” Michelle said.

Police believe the suspect is a man and, if apprehended, he could face at least three counts of criminal mischief. The extent of the charges remains unclear.
