A forthcoming H-E-B supermarket in west Fort Worth will have some new area customers for its famous tortillas.
Walsh, the west Fort Worth development partnership between the Walsh Companies and Republic Property Group, is expanding again. The development is adding approximately 959 new lots, extending the Lake Park neighborhood south and east toward Cline Park.
The new homes will include garden homes, townhomes and single-family homes from Britton Homes, Perry Homes, Drees Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes and a new addition to the Walsh builder lineup, Hark Homes.
“It’s been incredible to see this community grow, and this expansion reflects the long-term vision for Walsh as a connected, livable community designed to meet the needs of current and future residents,” said Seth Carpenter, senior vice president at Republic Property Group, in a statement.
Construction is already well underway, with initial lot deliveries completed and additional deliveries scheduled throughout 2026 and into 2027.
The new phases will also bring transportation and infrastructure improvements, including adding an alternate entrance and exit to the Interstate 20 frontage road and an additional east-west connection, according to Republic.
Last year, the Fort Worth City Council approved a special tax district for the 7,200-acre Walsh development. Funds from the special tax district could help pay for large projects such as new roads or utility lines in the fast-growing area, city leaders said.
Walsh is a master-planned development in west Fort Worth built on former ranchland owned by the Walsh family. The area is now home to major housing developments with about 2,500 residents.
The community is also home to the University of Texas at Arlington’s new campus, UTA West (scheduled to open fall 2028). Construction on a new H-E-B store in the area is scheduled to be complete by December 2026, according to a state filing.
Pilates franchise stretching out
BODYBAR Pilates, a Fort Worth-based fitness franchise based, has launched its first-ever national advertising campaign. Debuting across major digital and streaming platforms, the campaign features actual BODYBAR members or instructors.
Rather than relying on traditional fitness advertising visuals, BODYBAR chose to highlight the diversity of people who show up in its studios every day. By showcasing real bodies, ages and fitness levels, the campaign is designed to make Pilates feel more relatable and accessible, particularly for those who might have felt intimidated or excluded in the past, according to the company.
“This campaign is a true reflection of who we are,” Brittany Granby, vice president of marketing at BODYBAR Pilates, said in a statement. “BODYBAR has always been built on real community and expert‑led instruction. Featuring our actual members and instructors felt like the most honest way to tell our story, especially as we step onto a national stage for the first time.”
BODYBAR Pilates has also announced it has chosen Chicago-based Kelly Scott Madison as its agency of record as part of its push to drive national brand growth and franchise expansion.

Another round of whiskey
Blackland Distillery, Fort Worth’s grain-to-glass craft distillery, announced the launch of Prairie Ember, a Texas straight triticale whiskey, its newest spirit. Cooked, fermented, distilled and aged entirely in Fort Worth, Prairie Ember is crafted from a 100% triticale mash bill and has matured for four years in the Texas heat.
Triticale is a hybrid grain born from the cross of rye and wheat. Prairie Ember is exclusively available in the Blackland Distillery tasting room in Fort Worth. Later this spring, Prairie Ember can be purchased through select retail partners across Texas or online in 42 states.
The wide-open award-winning spaces
Texas and North Dakota have won the 2025 Site Selection Governor’s Cups. This is the 12th year Site Selection recognizes the state with the most qualifying new and expanded facilities per capita, which North Dakota claims for the first time in history for its corporate end-user project activity in 2025. Texas wins for the 14th consecutive time for having the most qualified projects of any state.
Texas was recognized for its most major job-creating business location and expansion projects over the past year. In 2025, the Lone Star State attracted 1,406 projects, up from 1,368 in 2024 and 1,254 in 2023.
