SAN ANTONIO – A man is in critical condition following a violent three-vehicle crash on the city’s West Side.

The incident occurred late Thursday night, at approximately 10:49 p.m., at the intersection of Culebra Road and NW 19th Street.

According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), an SUV traveling westbound suddenly veered left for unknown reasons, struck a raised curb, and rolled into the eastbound lanes. It flipped onto its driver’s side and slammed into another vehicle, causing it to lose control and veer into the westbound lanes.

A third vehicle, also traveling eastbound, was sideswiped and sustained minor damage.

The driver of the SUV abandoned the vehicle and took off without offering help or information. The driver of the second vehicle was transported with life-threatening injuries and remained in critical but stable condition.
