State senator to hold Fort Worth town hall on public education – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

The newest state lawmaker representing Tarrant County is holding a community town hall focused on public education.

State Sen. Rehmet will speak and join a panel of local education leaders, including a current Fort Worth ISD teacher and board of trustee member.

The 2-hour event also includes a Q&A with the lawmaker. It’s unclear if the education leaders will take part in that.

That’s tonight from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Northpark YMCA (9100 North Beach St.).

Fort Worth ISD is dealing with a state takeover of the district, related job cuts, and potential school closures.
