Here are Friday’s latest updates from the U.S.-Iran cease-fire and Israel’s war with Hezbollah:
■ The IDF said it struck more than 40 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, including military compounds and infrastructure.
■ The military said it intercepted a drone that crossed from Lebanon into northern Israel. It also said three additional aerial targets were intercepted before crossing into Israel, while another interception attempt in southern Lebanon is under review.
■ Israel sent advanced weapons systems, including a laser air-defense system, to the United Arab Emirates during the war with Iran, the Financial Times reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
■ Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said it is “not realistic” to expect rapid progress in talks with the United States, according to official IRNA news agency.
■ The United Arab Emirates’ presidential adviser said “no unilateral Iranian arrangements can be trusted” regarding freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz following what he called Iran’s “treacherous aggression.”
■ Israel’s Foreign Ministry said a Gaza-bound flotilla is a “Hamas-led provocation” and confirmed that activists Saif Abu Keshek and Thiago Ávila will be brought to Israel for questioning. Greece called for “restraint and universal respect for international law” after Israel intercepted vessels from the flotilla in international waters off Crete, according to its foreign ministry. Athens said it is coordinating the safe disembarkation of passengers.
■ A British man was charged after two Jewish men were stabbed in London’s Golders Green in what police called a terrorist incident, prompting the U.K. to raise its terrorism threat level to “severe.”
■ Nearly half of Jewish communities in Germany reported antisemitic incidents over the past year, according to a Central Council of Jews survey, with leaders warning of a “new normal” of insecurity.
■ Liem Ben Hamo, a 19-year-old Israeli soldier from Herzliya, was laid to rest on Friday after being killed by an explosive drone in southern Lebanon on Thursday, the IDF said. As of Thursday, 17 Israeli soldiers have been killed in southern Lebanon since the start of fighting with Hezbollah.
