Fort Worth voters decide May 2 whether to authorize an $845 million bond program designed to fund infrastructure improvements across the city.
The bond package is divided into six propositions, each appearing as a separate item on the ballot for voters to choose “for” or “against.” The $845 million total is divided among the propositions as follows:
- Proposition A: $511,480,700 for streets and mobility infrastructure improvements
- Proposition B: $185,140,000 for park, recreation and open space acquisitions and improvements
- Proposition C: $14,586,000 for public library improvements
- Proposition D: $10,000,000 for affordable housing
- Proposition E: $63,919,300 for police, fire and emergency communications facilities
- Proposition F: $59,874,000 for animal care and shelter improvements
Registered voters may cast a ballot at any polling location in Tarrant County. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Early voting was April 20-28.
Sample ballots are available here. The Fort Worth ballot also features nine proposed amendments to the city charter, including one to raise the mayor’s and council’s annual salaries. Far north Fort Worth residents will also choose a new City Council member in a special election to replace outgoing council member Alan Blaylock, who is running for state office.
