The Panthers followed up the Scourton draft by taking Princely Umanmielen in the third round, pairing up a duo that general manager Dan Morgan was excited to see on the field together.

“(These) are two guys that we think very highly of,” Morgan said of the duo. “They can get to the quarterback, they can play the run, and they can do all the things that we’re going to ask them to do. So yeah, we’re just super excited and didn’t think we’d be able to get both of them, so to be able to capitalize and trade up and get these guys, we’re just super excited about it.”

The Scourton signing comes ahead of training camp. Carolina will take the field beginning Wednesday, July 23.
