CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Robbie Pardlo, the former lead singer of the R&B group City High, has died at the age of 46.
Pardlo passed away on Thursday, surrounded by friends and family in Willingboro, N.J., TMZ reported. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Pardlo rose to fame with City High, a group he formed in 1999 with classmates Claudette Ortiz and Ryan Toby. The trio signed with Wyclef Jean’s label, Booga Basement, and released their self-titled debut album, which featured the 2001 hits “What Would You Do?” and “Caramel” featuring Eve. Their success earned them a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group in 2002, but the group disbanded in 2003.
He was later a member of R&B quartet First Take.
Pardlo struggled with alcoholism, which he said developed after City High split.
He is survived by his wife, Anika, and two children.
