PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A great start to our morning with lows in the 70s, enjoy it because temps will warm up in the mid-90s this afternoon. It will be about 6 degrees above our average. We are expecting a few clouds to roll in here on Sunday from a low-pressure system that will bring us some great changes in temperatures.
Starting Monday, we will see temps return to the 80s with a few clouds. This system will also pick up the winds a bit with some blowing dust in the forecast.
Even cooler air moves in Tuesday—just in time for Cinco de Mayo—with highs ranging from the upper 70s to low 80s. A significant warmup follows later in the week: Thursday climbs back into the upper 90s, and both Friday and Saturday may reach triple-digit temperatures.
In the high country, conditions remain mild through Monday, with a slight chance of showers on Sunday. Breezy winds develop Sunday, with stronger gusts expected Monday. The best chance for scattered mountain showers arrives Tuesday.
