SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – One of three bald eagles that escaped from Dollywood after a storm damaged an aviary has been found.
The American Eagle Foundation said Caesar was recovered Saturday evening and positively identified by his orange leg band marked “SE.”
The foundation credited community members for reporting sightings that led to the eagle’s recovery.
On April 19, Dollywood said an overnight storm caused a tree near Eagle Mountain Sanctuary to be uprooted, compromising the aviary. While 26 eagles were relocated to the American Eagle Foundation headquarters in Kodak, three eagles escaped.
Two eagles, Rockland and Wesley, remain missing. The American Eagle Foundation said its team is monitoring messages 24/7 as the search continues.
