H-E-B’s location under construction in Hurst-Euless-Bedford, also known as HEB, now has an opening date.
The San Antonio-based grocery giant announced Monday that the supermarket’s location at 2105 Rio Grande Blvd. in Euless will open May 20 at 6 a.m.
A post on the city of Bedford’s Facebook page says, “Time to get excited — tortillas are on the way!”
H-E-B broke ground on the location in November 2024. The store will include a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru, True Texas BBQ restaurant, curbside and home delivery stations and a fuel station.
H-E-B purchased the property in 2015. The cities of Bedford and Euless finalized an agreement allowing both the property tax and the sales tax generated by the store to be split between the two cities, because the property falls within both jurisdictions, according to a city of Bedford news release. The agreement also outlined each city’s responsibility for matters relating to platting, zoning, infrastructure, building plan review, permits, inspections, law enforcement, fire protection and prevention.
The cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford in northeast Tarrant County are collectively known as HEB, no hyphens.
The location is the latest in a string of new sites for the grocery chain that has become a Texas cultural phenomonon. H-E-B, which has sales of more than $50 billion and operates over 455 stores in Texas and Mexico, has made a big push into North Texas in recent years. On the west side of Dallas-Fort Worth, H-E-B has opened locations in the AllianceTexas development, in Mansfield, and has a site under development in the Walsh area in west Fort Worth.
