Smoke billowed from a wildfire west of Phoenix on Monday, May 4, as authorities urged locals to monitor smoke levels.
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management said that the Hazen Fire near Buckeye had burned 992 acres and was at zero percent containment as of Monday afternoon.
A fire department helicopter used water from a nearby lake to support ground crews with 60 bucket drops, the department said.
