Houston the pattern is changing: Heat, humidity and rain returns by mid-week
HHouston

Summerlike weather returns to Houston this week

  • May 5, 2026

Your Forecast:

We’re kicking off the day a little warmer with temps generally in the low to mod 70s. Expect to see more humidity throughout the day.

Tuesday’s Forecast:

Tuesday will be warm and humid. Winds are from the south at 10-15mph which will increase the moisture content in the air. Because of this, the mid-80s will feel more like the lower-90s.

Tuesday

Mid-Week Cold Front:

A mid-week cold front will bring another chance for rain Wednesday night through Friday. Depending on how fast or slow the front moves, we determine how much rain Houston can pick up. The highest chance for rainfall will be on Thursday.

Next Rain Chance

There is now a risk of strong to severe thunderstorms developing on Wednesday night as the front moves into southeast Texas. The threat is highest north and east of Houston.

Severe Threat Wednesday10 Day Forecast:

Even though we are tracking a late week cold front, it will not impact or temperatures dramatically like last weekend. We will still likely see highs in the lower-80s this weekend.
