PHOENIX — A drug trafficker who delivered more than 32 pounds of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in a Phoenix parking lot has been sentenced to five years in state prison.

Miguel Angel Leon was sentenced Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court after previously pleading guilty to possession of a dangerous drug for sale and misconduct involving weapons, both felonies.

On Oct. 29, 2025, Leon delivered 32.6 pounds of methamphetamine to the informant, following negotiations between the informant and a Mexico-based coordinator to buy 30 pounds of the drug for $30,000, prosecutors said.

Leon was arrested with a loaded 9mm handgun in his vehicle.
