ARLINGTON – Glynn Ervin went peacefully to be with the Lord on July 14, 2025, at the age of 85. He was a hardworking man who loved to share whatever he had with those around him. He never met a stranger and was always up for good food, good music, and good friends. Born in Mansfield, Texas, in 1940, to Clarence Curtis Ervin and Nettie Etoye Ervin, Glynn worked his way through a meager childhood. He had a natural talent for sales and started working for EcoLab, where he met Priscilla. He then built a successful career traveling the country with American Dish Service. From small-town farm boy to seasoned traveler, Glynn saw the world and built a life he was proud of. After retiring from ADS, he launched a business venture that grew into another successful endeavor-further proof that hard work pays off. Glynn and his beloved wife, Priscilla, traveled to many beautiful and exotic destinations, including Alaska, Scotland, Ireland, and Germany, to name a few. In recent years, their adventures turned local, and Glynn lovingly cared for Priscilla-always making sure her tea and toast were ready when she woke up. He cherished the home they shared, maintained it with pride, and especially loved being “nestled on the hill,” making memories with their children and grandchildren. A tinkerer at heart, Glynn delighted in gadgets of all kinds. He rarely sat still-always fixing something, or improving the house, or his shop. Yet perhaps his happiest role was simply being “Poppy.” He adored his grandchildren and treasured the time they spent together-whether they were swimming, sharing a meal, or just enjoying each other’s company. One of Glynn’s greatest joys was going out to dinner with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, we think he would love nothing more than for you to do just that-gather with the people you love and enjoy a good meal together. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Nettie Etoye Ervin; his brother, Roger Ervin; and his beloved wife, Priscilla Taylor Ervin. Glynn is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Holloway and husband Troy, Laura Christopher and husband Aaron; son Erik Ervin and wife Morgan; sister-in-law, Pam Wilkerson and husband Dean, along with their children Taylor and wife Jennifer, and Hannah; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held for family. A MOUNT OLIVET CHAPEL Greenwood Funeral Homes – Cremation 2301 N.
