Richardson Police said debris was scattered across the roadway after several vehicles were involved in a crash.

RICHARDSON, Texas — All northbound lanes of US 75 were shutdown at the Campbell Road exit as crews work to clean up debris from a car crash, according to Richardson police.

Police said the accident involved several vehicles and led to debris being scattered across the roadway. An 18 wheeler was traveling southbound carrying 44,000 pounds worth of pallets of granite and hit the center median. The load broke and granite fell into the northbound lames of traffic, police said.

At one point, three lanes of southbound US 75 at the Campbell road exit were also closed, but have since reopened.

Six cars travelling northbound were either hit by the granite or drove over it, causing damage, police said.

Two people were taken to the hospital – one of them being the 18 wheeler driver – with minor injuries.

When WFAA checked TxDOT cameras just before 4:30 p.m., the road was reopened.
