Singer and rapper Bad Bunny had a rather awkward run-in with his ex-girlfriend Kendall Jenner’s mother, Kris Jenner, at the 2026 Met Gala, and a video of the moment is currently getting widespread attention.
On the red carpet of the May 4 event, the Grammy winner was seen sticking his arm out for a one-arm hug as he happened upon Kris, who awkwardly hugged his arm back and patted it a few times, sharing a brief exchange.
Breaking the hug, Bad Bunny moved on to strike up a conversation with Kendall’s sister Kim Kardashian, who was standing right behind Kris. As seen in the now-viral video, Kim and the singer seemed to interact for a couple of seconds before the two walked away from each other.
People on the internet were quick to react to the video. One X user wrote, “That Bad Bunny greeting with Kris Jenner felt so awkward that even I got tense,” while another said, “The whole family pissed at him. Always a bad situation sign.”
One fan joked about Bad Bunny’s unrecognizably elderly appearance, which featured gray curls, sunspots and a cane, at the event.
They commented, “[Kris is] over here now wanting to know who that gentleman was who greeted her.”
Meanwhile, another person noted that the interaction wasn’t as awkward as it may now seem, writing, “It’s just that he hugged her weirdly.”

Kendall and Bad Bunny were first linked to each other in February 2023 after paparazzi photographed the duo exiting an L.A. restaurant together.
They were spotted together on multiple occasions up until October 2023 and reportedly called it quits two months later. According to reports, the couple rekindled their romance in early 2024, only to split once more in September of the same year.

Bad Bunny, on the other hand, is back with his longtime on-and-off girlfriend Gabriela Berlingeri, reports claim. Berlingeri, who is a jewelry designer, entrepreneur, model and influencer, allegedly started dating the singer in 2017.
